Hi Becca:

As a general statement, it's safer to spread out the radiation dose, but that effect is not significant when we're talking about diagnostic x-rays like chest x-rays.

Hi Doctor
Only just seen your reply to my query some time ago- thank you. I was also wondering this - if you have a chest x ray, which, according to the link you gave to another persons query, is the equivalent of 10 days worth of radiation - is it more harmful to have this 10 days worth all at once, as opposed to spread out over 10 days? As for example, sun exposure at a large dose at once can cause burning, but the same amount spread out over days is not harmful? Also is the equivalent for a childs chest x ray less than this? Many thanks again, this site is very interesting and informative.

Thanks Chris.

I've begun "twittering" and so I put up a link to this post, with your question: "Is It Always Wrong to Preform Futile CPR?"

Thanks for your article on safety of x-ray on children.
I read your comments above on high altitude radiation risks and I happen to live in Denver. I would like to read more on this. Can you please point me to any links that has more info on this.
Thanks again!
